GUEST BOOK

I first met Fritz in Guam in 1997 and was lucky enough to get to fly with him all over the Pacific. In those formative years, Fritz taught me a great deal about flying and about how to be an airline pilot, lessons for which I'll be forever grateful. Always a gentleman, Fritz genuinely cared about his friends and fellow crew members. In my case, where condescension would have been the easy choice, Fritz instead chose to treat me as an equal and with respect. I've never forgotten that, and I never will. I wish you well, my friend.

Fritz and I solved many of the world's problems at 'MACK' Donalds, as he used to say, and Morrison's Cafeteria at Daytona Beach....I think the world needs you again my friend! My heartfelt condolences to Fritz’s family. Although Fritz and I did not fly together a lot because of both being First Officers, I ran into him a lot in Germany. Always ready with a warm smile and laugh, he was a kind person and well-respected by his peers and crew members. I will never forget the time when listening in on a pilot conference call. Fritz took over the conference call and wanted hard answers from Ryan’s management for their inept handling of the B777 acquisition program. Although a kind and gentle person, Fritz was literally a bulldog and would not be denied. That passion that Fritz demonstrated in that moment is what endeared him in his life endeavors and beyond. You will be missed my friend! Godspeed!

No doubt you got the flight plan, loaded the box, did the plotting, and basically went over and above to make life easier for the next crew. Our schedules may vary a bit Fritz, but we're all headed that direction. From your vantage point, maybe you could request ATC to be vigilant with the rest of us. Make certain we get the right coordinates entered, and end up at the same destination. Godspeed my friend, Dan C.

Toma and All Other Family ~ I didn't know Fritz much beyond a workplace acquaintance, as our paths didn't cross that often. However, as professional pilots -- including both of us among the initial group ready to fly the Boeing 777 for Ryan -- we shared a common bond. Take heart to know that Fritz's reputation as a gentle soul preceeded him. He was always ready with a friendly smile and a warm hello. It would be good if there were more people like him in this world. I offer all of you my condolences, and a prayer that God will comfort you and give you peace now and in the days ahead. Please know that the warmth of memories will soon begin to fill the space left by your loss. Fritz was a good man, and he will be missed.

Judy and I are so saddened at the loss of our good friend. Fritz and I flew together many times from the Pacific to South America to the Middle East and beyond. Besides being a gentleman, Fritz was a fine and professional aviator. I always looked forward to flying with Fritz. He continually had a smile on his face, and was someone you could count on. Many people touch our lives, but only a few touch our hearts…Fritz was one of those. GOD Bless Fritz and his family David and Judy Duke

- David and Judy Duke, Talking Rock, GA

I met Fritz in Saipan in 1994 and like anyone else that knew him, he became a close friend. A man of strong moral character, Fritz was kind, tolerant, patient, and considerate of other points of view. He often met the inbound crews late in the evening, with a cooler of beer. Fritz loved aviation and always had a model airplane or two under construction. He was a good pilot and fun to fly with on the hardest of many 15 hour days over the Pacific. Those were 4 great years with some great flying, great parties, and great friends, and Fritz was one of the best. I will miss you Fritzer, see you on the beach. Steve Thornton

- Steve Thornton, Allen, TX

I flew with Fritz many times out in Guam and Saipan. I have videos of some of our trips together. He was great to fly with and a very good pilot. It was very sad to hear of his untimely passing. Thanks Fritz for the memories.

- Kim Flora, Wilkesboro NC, NC

Fritzy was my sim partner through my recent Airbus 330 type rating. He was the most kind and sweet man a person could be lucky enough to know. Of the past six months I spent more time with Fritz than anyone else from Ryan. I am so glad I got to spend such a great deal of time with such a good human being. He made those around him better people with his happy demeanor and frequent smiles. It is a great loss to everyone who knew him. Godspeed Frtizy.

Toma and Family, Having flown with Fritz on numerous occasions over the many years here we have all grown to appreciate his kind, gentle, and generous spirit. His work ethic and personal nature are something all of us need more of. His smile and presence will be greatly missed for all of us here at Ryan. My prayers and thoughts are truly with you all. My sincere condolences to Fritz' family. We only flew together a handful of times, but it was always a great flight with him as part of the crew. He will be dearly missed by everyone here at Ryan!

I flew with Fritz many times out in Guam and Saipan. I have videos of some of our trips together. He was great to fly with and a very good pilot. It was very sad to hear of his untimely passing. Thanks Fritz for the memories.
